| Welcome
to the Virginia Off Road Series (VORS). We hope you find the Series Challenging
and Unique. VORS will consist of 4 existing race series to create a diverse
racing environment. VORS has been structured with a mountain bike core
including other disciplines to create a competitive environment.
Virginia Off-Road Series Winners
will include Top 3 in each category.
CATEGORY SELECTION
VORS season begins with Camp Hilbert #1. Points will start accruing with
that race. In order to chose a category, competitors must race in a XC
race by May 31, 2008. There are 3 XC races available by that time. If
a racer plans on competing in his/her first XC race after the May 31 deadline,
he/she can still qualify for VORS by contacting us with their selected
category by April 15. The class you chose will be the category you
will compete in for the season. All points accrued in that time frame
will be moved into that Competitors Category slot.
SINGLESPEED need not worry about May 2008 deadline.
POINTS will be awarded by OVERALL Results in each of
the VORS Racer Categories, which means the age groups will be combined
on each level for the purpose of awarding points. Clydesdales will be
grouped with the Sport Men. Points will be awarded based on race directors
(FredEvents, 18 Hour, RunRideRace, Richmond Multisports, and Sports Backers)
final results. Any discripency with race results should be address to
them. A racer can participate for points in as many qualifying races as
they want through the year. There is no minimum or maximum number of races
allowed. VORS is only responsible for VORS point standings.
After
May 31st, if you have not classified for the Virginia Off Road Series,
you will continue to accumulate points in the Unclassified Section.....
Unclassified competitors points will not go toward TEAM points. There
are no awards for the unclassified competitors.
FredEvents FORD races will receive points in the Advance Cat
only for VORS scoring.
*Special Situation
Natl Off Road Duathlon Championships- due to the the inclusion
of both the Championship and the Sport Duathlons, points will be scored
as such:
Championship - Enduro/Multi Class
Sport - XC Class
This is a one time exception to regular rules.
Clarification for Endurance Races: 18 Hours on the Farm
& 12 Hours of Lodi. Three categories will be used on an overall
basis for awarding points: Male, Female, and Coed Teams.
Points for team events are divided by the number of team mates. Example:
400 points awarded to overall winner. If solo,
you capture all 400 points. If you are duo, each team member receives
200. If 4 person, each member receives 100.
If a racer changes their class during the year, XC races at a different
class level will not qualify for points but Multisport/Enduro and Endurance
points will.
Multidiscipline races are only awarding points to individual(solo)
racers. Relay teams do not score points.
WILDMAN TIE BREAKER
If there is a tie on number races then highest ranked wins.
Tie-Breakers at the end of the year will be determined
by these conditions, in order:
- Most races
- Who placed higher in the last race where racers competed against each
other
- Last racer to complete a race
VORS Directors may participate in races but will not
accumulate points towards the Series.
