SHOOTOUT ON ANGLERS RIDGE - MARCH 11, 2012 - DANVILLE, VA
....The first race of the 2012 Virginia Off Road Series gets under way in Danville, VA with the Shootout on Anglers Ridge. This race is known for its great trails and incredible turnout. Last year, over 300 mountain bikers took to this challenging course. Who will be there this year?
New for this year is that the XCAT/Enduro part of the Shootout will be moved to September to give a little more breathing room to the XC racers.
Course Description - This is a well maintained network of trails. These trails are well known for their quick ascents/descents. Areas of tight & twisty singletrack are well pronounced. The soil quality is clay-like. The course has received many positive reviews from past participants. Link to trails below.
2/16/2012 - SVMBA has created an OPEN Coed 3 lap Expert (Cat 1) Category!
The Shootout has moved their XCAT Race to September 21 ...BUT XCAT (Endurance) Category Competitors can still compete and be scored in the Virginia Off Road Series by following these simple steps:
1. Register Online for the Virginia Off Road Series (click here) and sign up for the XCAT CATEGORY by midnight March 1, 2012.
2. When you register for the Shootout, (click here) choose the appropriate XC Category that fits your abilities. If you place in the top 15 overall of your category, your points will carry into your XCAT score.
