The Wildman Award!!!!

Awarded every year to the competitor that competes in the most Virginia Off Road Series events! The Department of Conversation & Recreation(DCR) has sponsored this award offering an annual pass into all Virginia State Parks. Virginia has some of the best parks in the country. Have you been to Douthat State Park, lately?? We are sure you already know that!!!

WILDMAN RECIPIENTS FOR 2009:

*DANIEL ORTIZ - 15 RACES- 15years old during the season. now 16! Imagine how many races in 2010...

*CARLOS ESPINOZA - 15 RACES. Just started mountain biking winter of 2009.

Typically, we only give out one award. We could not help but recognize that Danny O did not have his drivers license and was able to compete in so many of our events. And on the other hand, Carlos Espinoza just started mountain biking last winter at the age of 43, lives in Northern Virginia and attended our events as far away as Danville, Va. Great jobs guys!

Thanks for all your hard work with the VORS. Another great season:-)

Christy Tankersley(Bike Factory Racing)

Great job with the series. I think it's great that you recently sent out the emails to wrap up the series and congratulate the participants, and it's also great that you tied in the state parks to the series--that's got to be helpful for trail advocacy. I think it's also cool that the series is attractive to all levels of racers. It's good to see that a beginner racer really crank

ed out the races and was named co-Wildman, and on a personal level Ellen had a lot of fun with the series and felt comfortable and unintimidated jumping into races.
