Favorite Race Style (XC, Enduro, Endurance) and
why? XC, theres a different vibe at these races..
people seem to have more fun and be more friendly.
Favorite Race: Twisted Tire Fall
Cup
How
did your favorite race play out?
I raced enduro for the first time, getting in 4 laps...the longest
mileage i've ever
ridden! It was a long day but worth every pedal stroke.
How
often do you ride and at what pace per ride?
About
3 times a week when the weather is nice. Downtown average is about 7 or
higher.
Do you think riding everyday is over training?
Not if your riding becuase you love it and are having fun at it.
Do you switch between road ride, mountain biking
and running?
Yes, all three, but mountain biking is my favorite.
Do you wear a heartrate monitor and train based
upon heart rate numbers?
No, too much to think about! I tried one a few years back and
just couldn't get in to it.
What (if any) supplements do you take during a race?
Shot blocks or mint chocolate Gu.
What
type of (if any) supplements do you take after a hard ride?
Panera.
What
got you into mountain biking and then what got you into racing?
Jared..he took me out to Poor Farm on a skinny tire hybrid. The
next debacle was a
few months later when he took me on buttermilk. I wanted to kill him but
got over it
after getting a real mountainbike and attending the Tuesday night RLAG
rides at PFP.
I completed my first race at PFP and was hooked by the feeling of accomplishment
and the motivation it gave me to continue to ride.
Would
you consider this a hobby, sport, lifestyle, or occupation? Why do you
feel that way?
Lifestyle. Riding has changed the way I live my life. I eat a
certain way and drink more water to
help with how i'm going to feel while riding. It's afforded me a totally
new group of friends and
introduced me to other sports, like triathlon, which I never, EVER, though
I'd compete in.
What do you like to do with your time away from
your race/training calendar?
Read
good books, watch trash t.v. (hey, I couldn't completely leave the old
lifestyle behind),
drink wine, and shop!
back
to top....
